St Mary's CofE Primary School
We love. We learn. We flourish.
🚗🚲✈️ This half term our topic is Transport! 🚂🚜🚁
We are enjoying the fun and imaginative story You Can't Take an Elephant on the Bus, joining in with repeated phrases and talking about the different types of transport we see in the story. The book has sparked lots of conversations about how people and animals travel, as well as encouraging us to use our imaginations and think about unusual journeys!
The children are enjoying building roads, tracks, and vehicles, and learning about different ways to travel by land, air, water and even magic carpets!
We are excited to go on transport walks around our local area, spotting buses, cars, bicycles, and other vehicles. We will be talking about what we see and comparing different types of transport.
We have been busy creating our own vehicles, practising cutting, mark-making, and creative skills, and using our imaginations to retell the story. Through role play, construction, and small-world activities, we are developing our language, problem-solving, and storytelling skills while having lots of fun exploring the world of transport! 🚍🚢🚂✈️
