St Mary's CofE Primary School - 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind...Love your neighbour as yourself.' Matthew 22 v37-40

We love. We learn. We flourish.

Nursery - What happens when crayons get warm?

We had lots of fun talking about crayons being hard and solid and discussed different ways we could warm them up and what may happen if we heat the crayons. The children had some fantastic ideas!

First, we carefully crushed the crayons into small pieces. Then, Miss Whittle used a hairdryer to blow warm air onto them and the crayons melted, changing from a solid into a liquid. Wow!

Once the crayons had melted, we used the colourful crayon liquid to make marks and create pictures on paper using paint brushes.
