We love. We learn. We flourish.
This week we have been celebrating Book Week and immersing ourselves in the story Rumble in the Jungle. The children enjoyed listening to the story and were able to predict what might happen next and recall different parts of the book. Following this, the children had a go at writing about what they could see in the jungle, and some even used describing words to explain what the animals and surroundings were like.
As part of our creative activities, we made annimal masks and had great fun acting out how animals move in our outdoor learning environment. The children loved stomping, slithering and swinging just like the animals from the jungle!
We also read lots of other animal-themed stories and our class favourite was Poo in the Zoo! which gave everyone lots of giggles.
On Friday we were excited to visit our school library, where Year 6 kindly read a story to us. It was lovely to share reading time together. We were also very lucky to have a parent reader to join us in class. A big thank you to Bella-Rose’s mum for taking the time to come in and read to us – we really enjoyed it!
It has been a wonderful week celebrating books, stories and our love of reading.
