On Saturday 18th July 2026, former pupils, parents and staff were invited into school as part of our 150th Birthday celebrations.

Each class had created art work linking to important events that were taken from the historical Head Teacher log books.  Photos from the archives were displayed alongside registers and the frightening sounding 'punishment book.'

The event was extremely emotional for many and visitors spent hours studying what was on display.  All around school, people were gasping, laughing and crying as memories resurfaced. The building was filled with a wide range of ages and visitors enjoyed the chance to revisit St Mary’s and try out Mrs Bragg’s famous carrot cake.

On Tuesday 21st July, Bishop Mark led a special service in church.  It was truly moving to
hear him talk about what an inspiration our school and pupils are.  Our head pupils spoke about their time at St. Mary's and our choir performed for the congregation.
