Sponsored run for the British Red Cross 2024

St Mary's sponsored run 2024

On Thursday 27th June, we held a special sponsored fun run to raise money to support the work of the British Red Cross.

Our school raised £550! Thank you for all your donations for this event!

When you see a major emergency in the news, it’s likely that the British Red Cross are helping those affected.  Their emblem is an internationally recognised symbol of protection and safety for people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are.

Every year they respond to around twenty global emergencies, including earthquakes, floods and conflicts, providing vital first aid, and essentials such as food, clean water and shelter.

Here in the UK, local teams are working hard to support some of the most vulnerable people right here in Tameside.

They respond to house fires and floods, provide first aid training in schools, help vulnerable and isolated people to get home and settled after a hospital stay, as well as supporting local refugees and those who have been displaced, to find safety and live with dignity.

If you would like to find out more about the work they do, please visit the website at:

St Mary's is proud to support the British Red Cross and show the #powerofkindness.
