We love. We learn. We flourish.
We started our Book Week celebrations with a creative activity by making our very own bookmarks.
Next, we took part in the Big Book Quiz. It was lots of fun testing our book knowledge and working together to answer questions about different stories and characters.
Later, we tuned in to the Scholastic Live reading and draw-along event Lovely Little Ladybirds. We listened to the story with authors Catherine Jacob and Lucy Fleming and followed along as we learned how to draw, the story’s main character, Betsy Buglove. Everyone loved seeing their drawings come to life at the end!
On Tuesday, we enjoyed a fantastic performance of The Jungle Book by M and M Productions.
On Wednesday, we took part in an exciting Bible Quiz where we tested our knowledge of different Bible stories and characters!
On Thursday, we were very lucky to have a special visit from author Ben Andrews. He spoke to us about his book series, shared his experiences of being a writer, and explained where he gets his ideas from.
On Friday, we had lots of fun dressing up as our favourite book characters. It was wonderful to see so many creative costumes and to guess which stories the characters were from.
Later, the Year 6 students read and acted out a book they had chosen for us. We really enjoyed watching their performance and listening to the story. It was a lovely way to end our Book Week celebrations.
