Let Girls Play Day 2025

‘Let Girls Play’ day 2025

Friday the 7th March is ‘Let Girls play’ day.  This is a national event that marks a year to the day since the UK Government committed to unlocking equal opportunities for girls to play sports in their schools.

In our school, this event was held on Thursday the 6th March.

Our Game Changers, who are Sophia, Willow and Lainey, prepared an assembly and activities for the day.  These included a penalty shoot out, a keepy-uppy challenge and football matches.

To prepare for their roles, the Game Changers attended training, which was run by Tameside School Sports Partnership, at Great Academy, Ashton.

The whole school had a fantastic day and got stuck in with the activities.  Lainey, Sophia and Willow have shown amazing leadership skills and are planning to continue events such as this in the future.
