St Mary's CofE Primary School
We love. We learn. We flourish.
Year 4, science topics covered this year:
States of matter - understanding the formation of particles in each state of matter, investigating changes in state of matter and knowledge of melting and freezing points.
Sound- we know how sounds are made and how sound travels in waves from the source of the noise to the ear.
Living things and their habitats- this topic worked really well with our Geography topic ‘Rainforests around the world.’ We were able to further identify what makes a perfect habitat for individual animals and we have looked at how animals adapt to their surroundings.
Animals including humans- we understand how the digestive system works and the function of each organ in the process. We have discussed the different types of teeth and have investigated the effects that sugar has on our teeth. Children have been able to identify the best possible way to help keep the enamel in our teeth strong and healthy.
Summer 2- electricity
We have been learning all about habitats and the different types of habitats on Earth.
