Year 3's World Book week events

This week, Year 3 have been looking at the books of Michael Bond and we have been reading his classic -Paddington Bear.

Paddington Bear by Michael Bond

We read the book and discussed how Paddington might have felt on his journey from Deepest Darkest Peru. We then talked about how his story is very relevant to today with many individuals and families facing a similar journey as refugees from dangers around the World. We also talked about how Paddington was actually homeless when he arrived at Paddington Station until the kind Brown family showed him an act of kindness.

We took part in a drawing session and tried to recreate Paddington in our art books. Some children added suitcases and marmalade sandwiches too!

Scholastic Live with David o’Connell

Year 3 joined over 2000 schools across the UK to watch David O’Connell launch his new book on the Beastie Bros series.

After a Q and A session, David answered questions sent in by children before we took part in a drawalong session. Mr Hoyle will be ordering the whole collection for our school library.
