EYFS Making it Real - Christmas Cracker Event 2025

Our recent Making it Real – Christmas Cracker Event for EYFS was a wonderful success, with lots of parents and children joining us to explore how learning happens through fun, hands-on activities. Children had the chance to write a letter or draw a picture for Santa, make a Christmas cookie from playdough, decorate a festive biscuit, create a Christmas card, and even thread their own Christmas necklace. They also enjoyed sharing a story on our storytelling throne with our reading-buddy bears, experiencing the joy of learning through play. Each activity was carefully planned to strengthen both big and small muscles in readiness for writing, while the print around the room supported children’s understanding of environmental text. It was fantastic to welcome so many families and showcase how Nursery and Reception learn in class. We were also delighted that Penny Greenwood, Tameside EYFS Consultant who oversees the project, was able to join us to meet our parents and see all the wonderful learning our children were engaged in too!
