Children's Mental Health Day 2025

The 3rd to the 7th February was a Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week.  Their theme this year was, 'Know yourself, grow yourself.'

Their website explains that, 'Being self-aware means getting to know and understand what we are good at, what we find difficult, our likes and dislikes, what makes us feel JOY and what may cause us SADNESS. It is also about understanding what makes us unique and our fears, hopes and dreams. As we build a sense of self, we grow in our ability to connect with others, as well as develop our skills and talents. It is with this basis we can form strong and healthy relationships, from early childhood right through to adulthood and are equipped to cope with the challenges that life brings our way.'

Here at St. Mary's, we dedicating Friday 7th February to this theme.  The children took part in lots of activities that help them to celebrate who they are and better understand their thoughts, feelings and behaviours in relation to different emotions.

Children were invited to wear their own clothes on this day as a way of expressing themselves and what they like to wear.

There was no formal homework set for children that week.  Their 'homework' was to spend at least 20 minutes completing an activity that brings them joy.
