St Mary's CofE Primary School
We love. We learn. We flourish.
This half term our topic is People Who Help Us!
We are exploring the story Superhero Like You by Dr. Ranj, getting to know the everyday heroes who help us — such as doctors, nurses, firefighters, police officers and many more. We are learning about the important jobs they do and how they help to keep people safe, healthy and happy.
In Nursery, we are continuing to develop our through exciting role-play and creative activities, such as designing our own superhero masks, using tools safely, building emergency vehicles and practising careful cutting and mark-making. We are also enjoying imaginative play in our “Hospital” area where children have been busy saving the day and working together as a team!
In Phonics, we are exploring body percussion — discovering the different sounds we can make with our hands, feet and voices. We have been clapping, tapping, stomping and using rhythm to support our listening and early phonics skills.
This is an inspiring topic — full of big dreams, community kindness and lots of super learning!
