Starting Reception September 2020

Reception Cohort

Mrs Cirelli and I are looking forward to welcoming your child/children into Reception on Wednesday 2nd September.

Children who have previously attended St Mary's Nursery will attend Reception from 9:45-11:45 am. 

Children who have not previously attended St Mary's Nursery will attend Reception from 12:45-2:45 pm.

This will continue until Monday 14th September, when all children will attend Reception full time from 8:45 am-2:50 pm.

A note from Mr Horan

At St Mary's we understand how worrying it can be when your child starts Reception and this has possibly been compounded by the current situation. 

At the time of writing we are not yet sure of the transition arrangements, however, it will likely be different from previous years. 

Our aim at St Mary's is to make the transition from your child's current setting into Reception a pleasant and positive experience for both you and your child.  I am familiar with most children who are set to start Reception from their time in Nursery.  For those children who are new to St Mary's, welcome to the family. 

Over the forthcoming weeks you will receive a welcome pack in the post. Some of these details e.g. start dates are provisional as we are currently unsure of what the situation will be in September. 

If you have any concerns, please contact myself or Miss Hampson. Mrs Cirelli and I are excited to welcome a new cohort in September. I can ensure you that your child is going to have lots of fun learning and make new friends. This year we will learn how to read simple words and sentences, write our names, count to 20 and much more. I am excited to meet you and begin our year of learning and fun!
