Thank you for your interest in our school.

This prospectus is a guide to school. We hope it helps you gain an understanding of how our school is organised and to appreciate the exciting opportunities on offer to children in our care. All schools have their own distinctive ‘feel’, which makes each one unique. We believe that the ‘special feel’ at St. Mary’s CE is due to our Christian ethos.

The best way to find out about St. Mary’s CE Primary School is to come and visit, to see the school in action, meet staff and children. Please make an appointment and we will be happy to show you round and answer any further questions.

Our school continues to develop in a variety of ways, providing an even more enriching
experience for our children. All staff work hard to provide a rich and challenging curriculum; to prepare children for future education; and enable them to develop skills and enthusiasm to pursue learning for the rest of their lives.

This year we have been very proud of our achievements: a good Ofsted Report ( May 2009),basketball champions, indoor athletics champions and raising £2000 for Maria’s Care Uganda, our chosen charity this year.

Education is a partnership between home and school and we place a great deal of emphasis on our partnership with parents. We believe that children learn best when home and school work together for their benefit. When your child starts school, it is not where your job ends and ours begins. It is where our job begins and yours continues!

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, and to a happy and successful partnership with all our new children and parents.

Miss K. M. Hampson
Headteacher.
