Our school is a community where Christ is
the centre.
Every individual is appreciated and valued.
All are encouraged to develop their full
potential: spiritually, morally,
intellectually and physically.
The ethos of sharing, caring and friendship
is fundamental to children
becoming responsible citizens in God’s
world. |
PHILOSOPHY OF
EDUCATION
Our philosophy of
education is based on the idea that children are the
centre of the learning process and they can and will
enjoy learning given the right conditions.
The governors and
staff wish to ensure that the school provides a
secure, happy, caring atmosphere, a lively,
stimulating environment and a broad, balanced and
relevant curriculum. The children will then be able
to develop their full potential through challenging
learning activities matched to stages of development
and individual needs.
The education provided
at St. Mary's aims to make an important contribution
to the children's academic, spiritual, moral,
cultural, social and physical development.
Each area of the
curriculum is carefully planned according to the
National Curriculum. Teachers have high expectations
of the children. Children's work is regularly
assessed and monitored in order to raise standards.
