To tie in with our wartime theme, the whole
of KS2 were taken on a trip to Setantii
museum in Ashton-U-lyne. The children and
staff dressed up in character to learn all
about times during the war. The children
visited an air raid shelter to experience
what it would be like during an air raid and
were given a tour of a 1940's kitchen. We
were then given a talk on evacuation,
rationing and how people survived daily life
during the war. The children were also able
to visit the Museum of the Manchester
Regiment which tells tales of world war one.
Here the children were able to see and smell
what the trenches would have been like
during the war as well as do some dressing
up!
